random ramblings

4th November, 2001. 8:54 pm. what a weekend!

I need a weekend to recover from this weekend! So much happened! Let's see... Friday morning, we woke up bright and early to head home cuz Jonathan was taking his test for his Life Insurance License that day in LA. So he dropped me off at my parents house while he went to his exam. While at home, I did laundry and sewed his Aladdin costume and do finishing touches on my Jasmine costume. That took ALL day. Then, that night we went to have dinner with his mom and Johnny, her "friend". After the movie, we went to go watch Monsters, Inc. with his mom and Johnny. That was such a good movie!!!! If you haven't watched it, GO WATCH MONSTERS, INC.! It was really cute! It was funny cuz when Jonathan was leaving after dropping me off, my mom comes out and saw me locking up the house. She comes out to give me money and stops confused...
      Mom: "Jonathan left?"
      Me: "Yup"
      Mom: "You didn't go... you're sleeping here tonight?"
      Me: "Yup"
      Mom: "And he's sleeping at his house tonight?!"
I thought it was so funny how she just totally assumed that I was going back to his house with him. She even gave me a new silk blanket for that night! ha ha ha...

So next day (Saturday), we wake up at 6 something in the morning! Why you ask? What can be so important to wake up so early on a Saturday morning?! ...what else?! Shopping, of course! Not just any shopping, Laundry (the brand) was having a warehouse sale! Yup... their manufacturing warehouse was having a sale! We got their just before 8. They don't open til 8, so there was a little waiting around, but it was so worth it! I only spent $150 and I got a cute black dress, denim skirt with rinestones around the pockets and around the back, and 2 long sweaters. Those long ones with tiey thingys around the waist. One was gray and the other one looks more dressy. It's black with a reddish furry collar. It's so cute! All for $150! I couldn't even get one of those sweaters at retail for that price! What a steal!

hm... then what happened? Oh yeah... that's just the start of the day! We were out of there before noon! We napped and finished up the costumes, for the party is that night. Around 5, we go to Anita's house warming party. Congrats Anita on your new condo! It was fun. Food and fun conversations. Nice place over in Pasadena, near Old Town Pasadena. Then we head back to Irvine to get ready to go to Steve's Halloween party at his place over in Mission Veigo. Sir came with us that night. Lots of fun! He decorated sooooo well! He made them mostly all himself. He had a guy hanging from the upstairs patio. He removed some boards of wood of the floor of the patio so the guy's feet dangled into the first floor patio. He also made this electric chair. Looks so good! Sir made me sit in it, and right when I sat, it set of this loud siren/screeching noise. Steve had wire it so when you sit, the chair screeches. The bathroom was made to look like a motels bathroom and had handprints all over the shower curtain with fake blood. He had a coffin with a skeleton in it. He had a whole dance room set up. His room was made like a Pirates of the Carribean thing. Even the food was all themed up! We had a cake that looked like a spider. Jello that looked like brains. The list goes on and on. I took my first shot that night. It was just some green apple thingy. Not too bad, til it went up my nose. ugh...

This morning, we drove back to my house for my big family event. EVERYONE was there! All these friends of my parents that I haven't seen for like 10 years were there! It was nice to see everyone. It started at noon. People came, ate, hung around. More people came. Some people started to leave. Cooking stopped. More people came. Then the cooking started up again! When my family throws a bbq, it's not just for one meal. It's a lunch AND dinner thing! So the party went from noon til 8PM. Fun fun... it was cute introducing Jonathan to all my parents friends and stuff. And now I'm back in Irvine. Bleh... ready to start a new week. Well, not ready, but trying.

Current mood: drained.
