random ramblings At 4AM last night, I couldn't sleep, so I decided to go take a shower. As I begin to soak my hair, I see this HUGE spider! It was like the size of my thumb nail and was brownish-tanish and was FUZZY! EW!!! I ended up washing it down the drain, but as I was preparing to get the spider, I had all these thoughts... like what if it's like some super spider and jumps at me or something. Even after I washed it down the drain, I kept looking at the drain to make sure it doesn't crawl back up. Gross! So Jonathan's co-worker, Steve, is having a Halloween party in 3 weeks. Steve always throughs awesome parties! Couple months ago, he had a 60's theme party and so many people got all dressed up and went all out. So Jonathan and I have been thinking about costumes since summer time. Jonathan suggested Raggedy Ann and Andy sometime during the summer. At the time, we thought it was a great idea. Then, as we were looking up pictures on the web last night to get an idea of how to make it, we changed our mind cuz every adult we saw dressed as Raggedy Ann or Andy looked so clownish! Okay, so next idea. In the end, we're going to be Aladdin and Jasmine. We went fabric shopping today and realized that we'll have to spend lots of time and money on the costume. We'd have to buy couple yards of different fabrics, and even if we only need two little pieces to cover my boobies, we'd have to buy at least half a yard of it. And the time we'd have to spend on it... OY! And most importantly to me, we'd have to make it look CLEAN! I made a jeannie costume last year, and although it was pretty good, it didn't look as clean as I'd like it. So I think we're going to go rent costumes. We'll have to see the price of renting cuz I saw a WAY cute jeannie costume at Fredricks of Hollywood. It's $50 though, but I'd get to keep it and where it whenever. Renting will have to be at least $15 cheaper to make me consider not buying one for myself. We'll see. Current mood: So we just got back from Kevin's engagement party. One couple at our table's already married, one's close, and two other couple, one being us, are just waiting a bit longer. But listening to all the marriage talk makes me wish I was graduating already! I can't wait til I graduate, get a career, get married, ah... Yeah, so that's my motivation to graduate. My mom made it clear that I had to graduate first. It was a nice gathering though. It was at Black Angus over at the Tustin MarketPlace. Food was okay... my soup and fish was waaaaaay salty. Jonathan fillet mignon was dry. Oh well, we didn't pay for it. I was considering getting a drink, but I figured I got a drink for lunch today, so I shouldn't make it a habit to drink at every meal. Besides, it gets expensive! At $6 a drink... yeah. So Kimberly, one of my old residents, came down to Irvine (she lives in Huntington Beach) and we had lunch together. We went to TGIFridays... just so I could get a drink. Yeah! It was a yummy drink too! Just basically pineapple juice, midori, and whatever else... all I tasted was pineapple. yummy! While deciding what to order today at Black Angus, I realized how much meat Jonathan and I have been eating! We had steak at Sir's last week, and steak last night, and ribs today for lunch. Yeah... that's why I got fish today! Speaking of dinner last night, we had our cheapest meal! So what happened was we went to Left at Albercurques. I got salmon and he got steak. We waited 40 min and our food never came. So we ask our server and she tells us she'll give us 50% off and she'll find out what happened. What end up happening is that the orders got mixed up and the kitchen never got our order! So she tells us that our bill is taken care of and the food will be right out. At the end, the bill comes and she tells us that her manager will only give 20% off and no more. That's still $27 we'd have to pay before tax and tip! So we call one of the managers over who claims that he wasn't the one who authorized the discount and will take care of it for us. Our waitress comes back and says, "here's the new bill, good thing you guys said something cuz he wouldn't listen to me". I thought he said he wasn't the one dealing with our bill... but anyway, when we looked at our bill, it was only $5.70. WTF...the bill is for one appetizer and one drink, both at 50% off. Whatever, so Jonathan goes to our waitress and ask for change for a 20. We left $15 figuring, "hey, almost $10 tip makes up for the wrong bill". As we're walking, Jonathan looks at his money and realizes that the waitress gave him the wrong change. Instead of 3 fives and 5 ones, she gave 3 fives, 4 ones, and 1 ten, I guess she mistaken the ten for a one. So in the end, we only paid $6 for salmon and steak! Score! Current mood: |
