random ramblings

1st October, 2001. 12:03 am. I'm 21!!!!!!!!

What a weekend! First off, Jonathan took me to San Deigo on Saturday. We got to go to the Banana Republic Factory Store and Abercrombie Kids. We then tried to go bar hoping at midnight, but ended up making it to only one bar. Before heading out to the bar, we went to Albertson's so I can make my first alcohol purchase. Everyone was laughing at me cuz I had my ID in my hand waiting for the guy to ask, and when he asked, I just enthusiastically said, "OKAY" while I flashed it at him. We then headed over to Sharkie's over in Newport. The bouncer and supermarket guy both looked at their watches and had to think about it for awhile. At the bar, Dorothy got me something... Southern Comfort with Lemon Drop? Something like that... but recall, I've NEVER drank before! They insisted that I take a sip, so I did, and I think everyone got a kick out of my reaction. YUCK!

Today, we got lunch then headed over to Nordstrom to find me a bra. Victoria Secrets workers told me to check out Nordstroms cuz they don't make many bra's my size, and definately not straplesses. I tried on 2 kinds... one was $32 and the other was $54... hm... big difference. Oddly, the cheaper one is the one that's all padded and stuff. The thin one ended up being so much more. After trying it on, we concluded that I can't wear padded bras. It just looks really bad... all pushed up to my nose. But I couldn't justify paying $54 for a bra! In the end, Jonathan got it for me as my b-day gift... THANK YOU JONATHAN!

Then we went home and had dinner with my family. It was yummy. My aunt gave me a read envelope and on it she wrote, "You're really legal now" and drew a martini glass. I thought that was so funny cuz she's my mom's older sister! Anyway, my parents and aunt got a kick out of hearing my alcohol purchasing stories.

When we came back to Irvine, we went to Albertson's again to get more alcohol while it's still my birthday. We had two lines to choose from and I chose this one line cuz the cashier looked friendlier... Oh what a good choice! He looked at my ID and seemed puzzled for quite some time. He kept looking at my ID and at the screen for the date and time. Then he realized, "oh, it's today". He started to say outloud, "hey, what does the birthday girl get?!" Then he starts to sing, "This is your birthday song... it isn't very long." It was funny... okay, I'm sleepy now...

Current mood: drunk.
