random ramblings Just finished my second day of training. Training has been going pretty well. Both yesterday and today went by pretty quick. Although yesterday's food wasn't so bad, today's lunch sucked, so I think I'm going to miss dinner tonight and eat my leftovers from Caspian (a really yummy classy Persian resturant with good prices). I've been wanting to finish it. Jonathan also is coming down today! Yippee! I've been really bonding with the girls on staff this year, which is quite different from the past two years where I bonded with the guys more. Us girls seem to have this common bond... our little girls dream of getting married and stuff. We talked a lot about rings and marriages and our future husbands. I guess since three of us are dating 26, or turning 26, year old guys that are already at the next stage in life, it's closer to reality for us. Linda, who doesn't seem like she'll marry her bf anyway, has gone ring shopping and was sharing her experiences and opinion on what's a good size diamond. She says anything greater than half a karat looks too big for her hand (which is like the size of mine)... which Jonathan was very happy about when I told him. hee hee... Training is also better as a returner (especially as a returner for the third year) because you have this authority. People listen to you. I also enjoy it more because I already know my place here and everyone knows you cuz you're the veteran, so it's really easy to make friends. Actually, a lil too easy because I also have some people that just follow me around, but I guess it's better than being the person who follows people around. Returning is also cool because they have me lead the activities and like today, they had me give the new HA's tours, so to prepare for the tour, I got to miss one of the training sessions! yeah! hee hee... Oh yeah, so highlight of today's training was when I got to put out a fire! Although this is the third training I've gone through, this is the first time we had fire safety training. They lit a tub of gas on fire, and we got to each put it out. Everyone made fun of me cuz I was all giddy about it. When I grabbed the extinguisher, I pretended to spray everyone. Then, when I put out the fire, I was all aggressive about it. So everyone was making fun of me that I would walk around AV starting fires just so I could put them out. Peaches lent me her nail polishes, so I'm going to go play now. Will update more later. Current mood: |
