random ramblings

It's been a long time since I've visited my high school. Today, I took my brother to go register for classes. They ended up not letting me in the building with him because I wasn't a student (although they did mistake me for a high school student still). I had to wait outside for him. I was hoping my old dance team was practicing, so I could say hi to my old advisor and see what the teams up to, but they weren't practicing. After sitting around outside for an hour, I saw the narc step away from the door, so I went in to sit with my brother. It was good to see my old peer counsoling advisor, who is my brother's counselor, even though she embarrassed me. Everyone sits facing all the counselors waiting for a free counselor. When I approached her, she got up and gave me a huge hug while being pretty loud out of excitement. Like this didn't attract attention already, she then announces to all, "This is a senior at UCI!". I just avoided looking out into the crowd.

Another interesting thing that happened while waiting for my brother is when I talked to his friend Phuong (Lucky). I found out that her big sis is best friends with one of the girls that I hung out with as a kid, Annie. Annie is one year younger, and I hung out with her big sis mostly, who is my age. We lived in the same apartment complex back in LA (over 13 years ago). I just found out that the older sister is now pregnant and living with the boyfriend. It's just shocking cuz since we were kids, everyone thought she would do so well. My parents always compared me to her. Wasn't till high school when I realized that she isn't college bound... but I didn't expect her to get pregnant at 21 and before marriage too. I wish my parents didn't leave to China yet so I could tell them.
