random ramblings

14th August, 2001. 1:42 pm. Where's my remote control?!

This neopets thing is so time consuming. There's so many games to play and a lot of it you can only earn points for your pet once a day, so if you don't play today, it's not like you can make up for it another day.

Has anyone seen my remote control? Damn... I haven't watched TV for couple days cuz I can't find that darn remote control. I don't want to just walk there to turn it on because if a bad program comes on, I'll have to stand up, walk the whole 5 steps to change the channel. Changing the channel without a remote control is harder than you think! Imagine if you need to channel surf! I would have to stand there changing channels until all stations are over their commercial break or keep walking back and forth! The 5 steps will soon add up to 100 steps! And most importantly, it would just ruin the flow of whatever else I'm doing. Anyway, my point is that I haven't watched TV in awhile, which also means no news. After hearing about the death of Jonathan's school mate, I went on NBC and ABC's website to see if there was any coverage on it. I would think there is if there was a man found dead in his pool while locked car's engine's still on! Anyway, I did find some other sad news that I wish I had saw the coverage on, like the death of Amanda Fan. A 16 year old girl found dead at her school, South Torrance High, with stab wounds and burns on her arms and legs. They had no pictures of her, so I wished I saw coverage on TV cuz they prolly showed pictures or something.

Death makes me sad. It's something I haven't really dealt with and haven't accepted yet. If someone close to me passed away, I don't think I'll be able to accept the fact that they'll never be back, that I'll never be able to talk to them or see them again. Only people in my life that passed away are my aunt (a year and a half ago) and my great grandma (a year ago). As you can see, death is something I didn't encounter til I was older. My aunt and I were never close anyway, so it never really occured to me that she's dead... it's just like she's on a long vacation. My great grandma and I were closer, but I didn't see her that often, so I just feel like I haven't seen her in awhile. I just don't get what happens when they die, so I just think they're sleeping or something. So if it was someone that is a part of my daily life, I don't think I'd be able to understand why they can't just wake up.

Ok, on a not so sad note... don't buy Holmes fans. The fan I bought when I encountered that dick security guard made a rattling sound cuz the plastic screen thing (which you can spin to control direction of the fan) pushed against the propellers, so Jonathan and I went back to Target to return it. (darn, didn't see that security guy again) Anyway, when we returned it, the lady said everyone is bringing Holmes fans back. We decided not to exchange it and look for another. i decided to get a cheaper one cuz it doesn't have that rotating plastic, which is the cause of the rattling. I come home to find that the propeller's wobbly! So I was thinking of just exchanging this one, but Jonathan convinced me not to bother w/ this brand and get another.

We then went to eat at Kabuki's. If you haven't been there, I recommend it. It's at the corner of Foothill and Rosemead in Pasadena. It's good food and cheap if you order the right things. They have 50% off special on sushi if you order a minimum of 3/person (2/person during lunch). We got 6 different kinds of sushi for $20. If you go, you have to get the spicy tuna tempura roll. it's a spicy tuna roll dipped in tempura batter. So the whole entire roll is crunchy! yummy. Not as good as Wasabi's blue crab roll, but not as expensive either.

Current mood: drained.
