random ramblings

4th August, 2001. 5:13 pm.

dum de dum... I'm not really in the mood to write right now (so I prolly shouldn't, huh?). Anyway, today's Jonathan's mommy's birthday. We're going to Cheesecake Factory in Old Town Pasadena soon. I'm just waiting for Jonathan to get back from his series seven class... I think it's series seven. Dunno... he has to pass like 3 test or something before he starts working for metlife. He's making a career change, should be a good one.

I made his mom a frame. Hopefully, Jonathan will bring his camera, and I'll be able to get a picture of it and post it up later. It's really cute! hee hee... I like it, but of course, I also made it. =P

I was talking to my friend Larry the other night. He's one of my closest friends (although we haven't been as close since he went to SB). We met back in summer school after my freshman year in HS. So, we were really close. It was one of those things where we liked each other, but never said anything, then eventually, we both got with someone else. Maybe that's why we're so close, even though we don't hang out as often. We went through a lot together. So anyway, when we hung out, I was really into hiphop... i mean, REALLY into hiphop. Particularly east coast stuff. When he left to SB, I was slowly phasing out of it, but I guess he didn't really notice since he wasn't around. When we did hang out, hiphop was always on since the people we were around listened to it. So this is how it kinda went that night we chatted on AIM:

Larry: "Do you still listen to hiphop?"
Me: "Nope, I listen to STAR 98.7."
Larry: "OMG, you turned gay on me!"
Me: "LOL"
Larry: "Who are you and what have you done with my friend Caroline?!"

It just cracked me up. It's funny cuz when you meet someone, and then they grow up or change, you tend to still think of them and see them as the person you knew instead of the person they've become.

Another cool incident... Sangtip, my best friend from pre-school til 3rd grade (I moved) e-mailed me couple days ago. I sent her a link to my website and when she looked at my pictures, she said, "I still see the 5 year-old Caroline I knew when I look at the pictures." Sometimes it can be awkward hanging out with old friends because they expect and treat me like the person I was, which makes me want to naturally respond like the person I was, but then, that's not who I am now. There are very few people that I can not talk to for a long time, then hang out again as if no time was lost (like my friend, Phuong... amongst others, but we prolly had the longest gap).

Current mood: bouncy.
